Dr. Catherine E. Hoyser, writer. I am excited and honored to be joining the AFWP team. I have been following the Artists for World Peace projects for several years and look forward to joining Wendy and the AFWP team for the inaugural Rosebud Indian Reservation eye clinic. The values of peace and service to others resonate with mine. Those values led me to teach at the University of Saint Joseph, where I have been for over 25 years. My latest publication focuses on the impact on Hawaiians of the Congregational missionaries who executed cultural genocide on them. It is based on a series of interviews with a missionary descendent who is giving back to the community by sponsoring cultural, environmental, and educational programs that Hawaiian people want. I also meet with Hawaiian activists who are working for the return of the island to the Hawaiian people. Look for my reflections, events and interviews on the AFWP Facebook page and my blog here on Wordpress before, during and after the clinic week. Thank you to the Elders and members of the Rosebud community for welcoming us into their sacred space. View all posts by Dr. Catherine Hoyser
